My name is Mubarak Saeed.
I am a self-taught freelance photographer and filmmaker based in Yemen, and have been for the past seven years. When asked what I do for a living, I like to tell people it is my passion to show emotions that others can’t see through my own lenses. Having grown up in Aden, the de facto capital city of Yemen, I have worked with journalists and international organisations across the country, where I have used my contacts and in-depth knowledge to provide high-quality footage and images as well as stories. Organisations include Project Masam, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mercy Corps, Pure Hands, INTERSOS, Muslim Hand, Care International, Make a Wish UAE, ARK Assist and the Yemen Petroleum Company. My work has previously appeared in national photography exhibitions including the Regathered Project, where my goal was to showcase the suffering of journalists, photographers and artists in Yemen; internal emotions of everyday citizens; and the issue with Yemen’s reliance on foreign exchange rates to trade. I specialize in people photography (portraits, interviews and stories), humanitarian photography, landscape photography, drone photography and filming and documentary filmmaking. I can both edit and produce videos and am proficient in Adobe Premier Pro and Lightroom, as well as Photoshop. I have attended to an IHL Lectures with ICRC and I have ICDL Certificate , Advanced English Language Certificates from the New Horizons Institute, Aden. In my free time, I often join Masterclasses with well-known figures in the industry - such as Griffin Hammond and James Neihouse -, as I strive to always deepen my knowledge. That is also why I also love to learn new languages (I am currently learning Spanish), travel and work in new places, as well as do other creative activities. I am free for new projects – long or short – so feel free to contact me (email, What’s App, Facebook or Instagram) and we can discuss how I can help you. |
